20th Century Decorative Art and Design

The challenges of postwar design sparked the creative—and often humorous—spirit of architects, artists, and designers in the creation of furniture. Supported by the emergence of new materials and techniques (plastics, resins, Corian, stereolithography, etc.), they gave rise to the development of a new visual vocabulary and the design of functional interiors suited to contemporary lifestyles.
