AuctionArt’s first auctions highlighted Rémy le Fur’s commitment to modern and contemporary art.
Auguste Renoir’s portrait of Douglas Fitch, a work that had remained in the model’s family since 1881, sold for €433,000 against a low estimate of €250,000.
On June 26, 2008, the tribute sale “Regard sur Jacques Germain” featured approximately one hundred works from a private collection, spanning the artist’s entire career. All lots found buyers, tripling the low estimate and setting new records for works on paper.
Led by Rémy le Fur’s expertise, the Modern and Contemporary Paintings department places particular emphasis on collection management and valuation for insurance or auction purposes.
