Eleven poems illustrated with eleven original etchings, including one full-page, all engraved by A[uguste] B[ROUET]. Edition of 100 copies, this one (no. 23), one of 97 on Hollande laid paper. LONG INVOICE FROM THE AUTHOR in violet ink on the front cover: "Amabit sapiens, cupient ceteri // Plaise à Monsieur Jean Texcier, amicus perfacetus, de tenir Le Calamiste alizé (écrit au Camp d'Avord sous le costume du 269e) comme l'hommage de mes fiançailles à la plus tendre, à la plus noble des Femmes, cette Phalérinienne, plastic evocator of Elementalism, which includes both the pure and the impure, both of which merge intrinsically in the present erastome, brought to its highest degree of lyrical imagination, beyond any hint of eschrology and beyond, videlicat, pen[u]dendum et pudenda! // Quod tu, mi gnate, quaeso ut in pectus tuum demittas, tamquam in fiscinam vindemitor. // Louis de Gonzague Frick. // (Le Lunain)" The author has also made a handwritten correction to the engraved text of poem no. IV, crossing out the word "caguerai" and replacing it with the word "trônerai". Jacket damaged; some freckling. Edition unknown to Pascal Pia, who cites the 1921 edition given by Simon Kra. EXEMPLE OF WHICH THE EAUX-FORTES HAVE BEEN AQUARELLED & WITH AN ENVOI to the journalist Jean TEXCIER (1888-1957).
