Chest of drawers - Lot 231
Chest of drawers in veneered wood, decorated with butterfly wings and fillets. It opens with five drawers in three rows, one of which is on a crossbar. The rounded uprights with simulated fluting end in swivel feet. Stamped by VASSOU et Jurande. Louis XVI period. White veined black marble top. Gilt bronze trim such as pull handles, corner falls, rings and sabots. Height 86 Width 125 Depth 56 cm (restorations, lifts, missing parts, one foot end and hoof to be restored) Jean-Baptiste VASSOU (1739-1807), Master in 1767.
