François I DUMONT (1751-1831), after Elisabeth VIGÉE-LEBRUN (1755-1842) Portrait of Elisabeth-Philippe-Marie-Hélène de France, known as Madame Elisabeth, last child of the Dauphin Louis-Ferdinand, son of Louis XV, and Marie-Josèphe de Saxe. Miniature signed lower right and dated 1789. Height 12.3 Width 9.3 cm The Château de Versailles conserves a replica of the painting in the Capitaine des Gardes apartment, based on the lost original by Vigée Le Brun (inv. no. MV 8143). Our miniature shows some slight variations.
