Exceptional yellow gold snuffbox - Lot 148

Exceptional yellow gold snuffbox rectangular shape with yellow gold contours. The lid is underlined by an accolade-shaped thumb rest, decorated with a lively scene of a bird in a reserve, a cedar in the center near a fountain and a neoclassical architectural facade, the rim richly decorated with scrolls of acanthus leaves and stylized shells on an amati background. The sides are decorated with floral reserves on an amati background, alternating with trellised reserves. The bottom decorated with a weapon trophy featuring helmet, bow and quiver filled with arrows in an amati-backed reserve in a rich surround of shells and stylized flowers.
