RAMBERVILLER (Alphonse de). Les Devots elancemens du poete chrestien [...]. A Toul, Par François du Boys, Imprimeur du Roy, 1610. 4 parts in one volume in-12, green morocco, double cold-stamped fillet framing the boards, spine spine decorated with the same decoration, gilt edges (Duru 1850). Eleven quires numbered: à12, A-H12, I6 & K4 (the last blank and some errors in quire G): paginated: [II] +22 (with pagination errors) + 210 + [II blank] pp. Twenty engraved figures including an ornate title by Thomas de LEU and nineteen by Jacob de WEERT. VERY RARE TOULOISE EDITION. This edition takes the title (whose name and address have been changed) and nineteen of the 21 figures from the Pont-à-Mousson edition of 1602/1603. The IXth and XXIst figures, introducing Parts II and IV (pp. 48 & 160), have not been included. Some parts have been omitted, including "Les larmes publiques sur le trépas de [...] Philippe Emmanuel de Lorraine, duc de Mercoeur". The Bibliothèque Nationale de France copy is incomplete with four figures: - the VIIIth: "La resolution du Penitent a la Satisfaction." (1602/1603 f. 65/66 - 1610, p. 38) : - la XVIIe: "La subvention du Catholique au repos de l'Eglise en temps d'Heresies." (1602/1603, f. 145/146 - 1610, p. 108), - the XIXth: "Intercession for the relief of Deffunct Catholics." (1602/1603, f. 173/174 - 1610, p. 132), and - the XXth: "La consideration de la Mort."
