Michel Richard DELALANDE (1657-1726). Motets. IIIe Livre : Miserere mei Deus, Regina Coeli Loetare : IIe Livre : O Filii et Filiae, Cantate Domino. Paris, Boivin, ruë Saint-honoré à la Règle d'Or, 1729. Large folio, full calf (contemporary binding). Title, 57, [Privilège], 14 : titre, 32, 37 pp. First editions with the following full title for the two books containing two motets: "Motets de Feu Mr De La Lande, Chevalier de l'Ordre de St Michel, Sur-Intendant de la Musique du ROY, Maître de Musique et Compositeur Ordinaire de la Chapelle et de la Chambre de sa Majesté". And nothing less than "the greatest representative of the Versailles School", according to Norbert Dufourcq in his article for Marc Honegger's reference work (Dictionnaire de la Musique, Bordas, 1979). VERY PRETTY EXAMPLE, beautiful music engraving by Louis Hue, superb title pages, thick, well-engraved paper, marginal flaws to contemporary binding.
