Eugène LAMI (1800-1890) View of Diogenes' Lantern (Saint-Cloud), 1843 Watercolor and graphite Signed EUG. LAMI lower right 13 x 19 cm This watercolor was engraved by Roberts as an illustration for Jules Janin's Eté à Paris, published by Curmer in 1843. In the center is the terracotta lantern, known as Diogenes', built in the park of Saint-Cloud after the monument of Lysicrates in Athens. It was lit to signal the presence of the First Consul.
