JAPAN - MEIJI period (1868 - 1912) Large rectangular tray in kinji lacquer decorated in takamaki-e, hiramaki-e with gold, red and silver lacquer, kirigane and inlays of mother-of-pearl and rakan bone. One scrolls under blossoming trees while another flies over them on the back of a crane. The wing of the tray is decorated with hanabishi motifs and môn with aoi leaves (accidents and missing parts) Dim. 69.3 x 51.5 cm
