Box of oval form, in gold chased of panels representing columns framed of guilloche and crosses delimited by scrolls of foliage on amati bottom, the lid decorated with a miniature representing the du d'Orléans, future king Louis-Philippe, signed Jacques. Goldsmith difficult to identify, perhaps Alexandre Leferre. Paris, 1819-1838 2 x 6,5 cm Gross weight : 67 g Nicolas Jacques, 1780-1844, miniaturist of great renown, student of David and Isabey. One of his miniatures is in the collections of the Louvre (reference INV27237) and another in the collections of the Queen of England (reference RCIN420346).
