GEORGES LE TURCQ (attributed to) - Lot 97
GEORGES LE TURCQ (attributed to) 18K (750) gold pendant-brooch drawing a stylized wisteria, the flowers in cabochon opals, the enamelled foliage plique-à-jour pricked with 2 rose-cut diamonds; it fits on an 18K gold necklace punctuated with cabochon opals. Not signed. French work of the early 20th century. In a beige morocco case, cream silk interior signed Le Turcq. Dimensions of the pendant : 6 x 5,2 cm approximately. Gross weight : 19,1 g Although not signed, this jewel, by the quality of its realization as much as by its lines is to bring closer to the creations of Le Turcq in 1900 represented in the Vever. The naturalist theme, the plique-à-jour enamel used for the representation of the foliage are as many clues supporting in our opinion this attribution. Henri Vever, La bijouterie française au XIXe siècle, volume III, Paris 1908, p. 647
