CHINA - 19th century Important couple of chimeras, in carved wood and red and gold lacquered, sitting with their mouths open, the male with his right paw resting on the ball, the female with her left paw in front of her cub, their manes finely curled, they rest on rectangular bases simulating a drape, decorated with a frieze of foliage and lotus petals on four feet with poly-lobed sides. (Gerces and wear of the lacquer). Total height: 150 cm W. 94 cm D.: 62 cm Provenance: Former LÜ-XIAGUANG collection (1906-1994)
