In-8°, long-grained midnight blue morocco, broad framing of fillets, fine serrated roulettes and gilt fleurons adorning the boards, spine ribbed and decorated, gilt edges, lining and endpapers of red moire (Rel. P. Lefebvre). ORIGINAL EDITION of this work which is openly inspired by the tragedy of Frederic Schiller published in 1800 and published in the same year 1820 in Paris, in a translation by M. de Latouche, by the publishers Bataille and Barba (with an almost identical title page). This edition of Le Brun's play does not appear in the catalogues of the B. N. F.] A portrait of Mary Stuart engraved by DEVERIA on the frontispiece. From the library of Jacques Lacour-Gayet, with ex-libris. Damage at the foot of the spine and foot corners slightly dulled, but A fine copy in LEFEBVRE's leather binding.
