RACINE (Jean). Oeuvres de Racine. A Paris, Chez Pierre Trabouillet, 1680, & Chez Jean Ribou, 1677. 2 volumes in-12, soft ivory vellum with small overlaps (pastiche binding). Edition shared with Claude Barbin, almost identical to the very rare first collective edition of 1675 for the first volume and to that of 1676-1679 for the second. Original edition of Phèdre (or published the same year as the original) given in Paris, by Jean Ribou, in 1677, and placed with proper pagination ([VI]+74) at the end of volume II. An allegorical title-frontispiece in volume I bearing : Tragédies de Racine, an ornate title-frontispiece in volume II bearing: Oevvres de Racine et dix figures hors texte gravées par CHAUVEAU. A title and a frontispiece engraved by Le Clerc in Phèdre. Some marginal foxing on the first leaves of volume I; one leaf damaged at the foot in volume II with small lack of text; one blank leaf short at the beginning of Phèdre.
