Amsterdam [Paris, Barbou], 1762. 2 volumes in-12 (115 x 175 mm), red morocco, triple gilt fillet framing the boards, smooth spine decorated, gilt edges (period binding). A portrait of La Fontaine after RIGAUD, engraved by FICQUET, in the frontispiece of volume I and one of Eisen, after VISPRÉ, also engraved by FICQUET, in the frontispiece of volume II; 80 figures by EISEN, engraved by ALIAMET, BAQUOY, CHOFFARD, DELAFOSSE, FLIPART, LEMIRE, LEVEAU, LONGUEIL and OUVRIER; four vignettes and 53 culs-de-lampe by CHOFFARD Copy with the figures of the "Cas de conscience" and the "Diable de Papefiguière" uncovered (volume II, pp. 142/143 & 148/149). Corners dulled; very small accident to the head cover of volume II; leaves slightly creased in volume I, but A RED MAROQUIN COPY OF THE CELEBRATE EDITION, known as "DES FERMIERS GÉNÉRAUX", of this work by La Fontaine, one of the most beautiful books of the 18th century, EISEN'S MASTERPIECE.
